Aug 24 Nashotah Orientation
We are a young married couple on a long-term exploration of our vocation. In 2008, that journey took us to India. Beginning this fall, we will be studying at Nashotah House, an small Anglo-Catholic seminary in Wisconsin, where our lives will revolve around prayer, study, and work, in the classical Benedictine rhythm.

Guest Room
We look forward to making hospitality something that we can offer during our time at Seminary, inviting others to cenobetically share with us for a few days in our life of prayer and study. Check back in mid- to late-August for more details.
Giving
As you feel called, we welcome contributions to our development and vision. Our community past, present, and future — people who are invested in us and in our mission — form a big part of the mechanism through which God supports and sustains us financially, as well as spiritually and emotionally. Communion with the Ornery
edited 1219692359|%O| ago
One of the things I love most about the Church is how I get to be in communion with people I really don't agree with. It is a challenge, yes; perhaps even an impossible one. But joyously received nonetheless.
The Queenship of Mary

Today the Catholic Church celebrates the Queenship of Mary. Its placement on August 22 makes it the completion of the octave following the Feast of the Assumption (aka the Dormition) on Aug 15.
Shove Chapel Book
edited 1219613770|%O| ago
As the spiritual capstone to my college career, I spent a month prayerfully researching the iconography of Shove Chapel at Colorado College. I recognized intuitively that the building that had absorbed so many of my prayers and songs through my time as a student could not have left me unchanged.
Christian Music: Song, Hymns, and Psalmody
edited 1219605108|%O| ago
Christian music has always been an important part of both defining and practicing the faith. As the old axiom goes, lex orandi, lex credendi—as we pray, so we worship; so we believe. This is true even today in a secular context. Modern music plays an important role in creating and reinforcing cultural values, sustaining identity, and connecting individuals with communities, movements, and subcultures.
